General Information
The Wilton Fire Department protects an area of approximately 26.8 square miles with a population of 18,000 and responds to nearly 1700 calls for service annually. Wilton, Connecticut is located about 50 miles (80 kilometers) northeast of New York City. Major thoroughfares include US Route 7 and Connecticut Routes 33 and 106. Wilton has two station stops on the Danbury Branch of the Metro-North Railroad's New Haven Line, Wilton Center and Cannondale.
The Wilton Fire Department provides fire, rescue, emergency medical service, hazardous material mitigation, building plan reviews and other Fire Marshal activities and services from two fire stations. Fire Headquarters is located at 236 Danbury Road (US 7) in the Town Hall Municipal Campus. Station 2 is located at 707 Ridgefield Road (CT RT. 33) in North Wilton. Both stations are staffed with career Firefighter/EMT's 24 hours a day.
