Firefighters Asking For Donations To Support Our Troops

The Wilton Fire Department and the Wilton Career Firefighters Local 2233 will be collecting items to send to members of the Navy / Coast Guard 21st Warfare Squadron currently serving in Iraq. The 21st Warfare Squadron is a Reserve unit based out of Groton Connecticut, and comprised of members from New England and Mid Atlantic States. Items will be collected till March 30th and shipped over to Iraq shortly after this date. Any residents or businesses looking to help may drop off items at Wilton Fire Headquarters, 236 Danbury Road in Wilton.

Any donations to help will be deeply appreciated!

Items “needed” by the service men and woman:
-Pre-paid Telephone cards
-Baby wipes
-Medicated foot powder
-Cotton undershirts
-Beef Jerky
-Unscented baby powder
-Coffee
-Soft toilet paper
-Hand warmers (the kind you pop and stick in your gloves)
-Anti bacterial hand sanitizers

Items “wanted” by the service men and women:
-DVD’s of movies and TV shows
-Personnel care kits (mail clippers, files, etc.)
-Games (board games, cards, and computer games)
-Shampoo
-Soap
-Candy and gum
-Snacks (chips, snack cakes, etc)
-Letters
-Medicated face wipes
-Hand lotion
-Books and magazines (all types and categories)

Regularly Scheduled Fire Commission Meetings 2008

The Wilton Fire Commission meets the first Tuesday of each month at Fire Headquarters, 236 Danbury Rd at 6:30 p.m. Special meetings are posted at the Town Clerk's Office and on this page.
