Press Release:  Be Prepared for Winter Storms

Wilton, CT, December 17, 2007—Now that winter is here we need to be prepared. Prepare for winter storms with an emergency kit. Label the kit "Emergency".

Item's to include:

• Flashlight with extra fresh batteries
• Candles, holders and matches
• Battery-operated radio with extra fresh batteries
• Manual can opener (not electric)
• Windup or battery operated clock
• At least a three-day supply of non-perishable food
• Paper plates and plastic utensils
• Dry firewood, kindling and paper
• One gallon of water per person per day for at least three days, for drinking and sanitation
• Extra blankets or sleeping bags
• A first aid kit
• Moist towelettes, garbage bags and plastic ties for personal sanitation

Be sure to change the batteries in your emergency kit every now and then. Even unused batteries lose power after a while.
